Twitter has laid off 80% and is still functioning so well. What's the need for so many tech workers?

You need to hit the FIRE number soon. Most people are coasting in big companies and it's a matter of time before jobs get shifted overseas and AI wipes out a major chunk of US workers. If you have kids, either they should be super smart in the next decade or they are gonna suffer.

Are you ready, OP?

There's a difference between being a functioning product vs a great product. Twitter has gone to shit since 2.0/X. The algorithm keeps changing so much that it's basically search every few months about topics I'm interested so the algo adjusts before it dies again. Trending page is just crap now

Comments are absolutely garbage too.

Intuit dingo-bg Apr 18

The notifications that I get are also garbage. I'm sure engagement is down big time

Let's lay off 80% of Amazon and see how it goes.

Qualtrics 🚗 go brr Apr 18

If that happens in AWS I'm more worried about every other company that uses AWS..

Don't worry, Elon is going to enlighten everybody else how software works. And hardware, and networks, and compilers. He'll single-handedly solve all engineering and science issues while using a skeleton crew.

Trending page is all black people fight videos, deaths, and OF digital pimp ads. You must be smoking some good masala to come to your dumb conclusion.

With so many FIRE and inflation actual FIRe bar would be much higher. Clearly above 10M, likely 25M in two decades

My FIRE number is 2M although 3M would be nice. 2M would give me about 80k/year or more which is more than double the median income in the USA and I can live comfortably on once my kids are out of the house which will be in a couple of years. I’m only 45 and single so I likely would still do something but 2M would allow me to not have to work and could volunteer or do contracting only when I wanted.

Uber eGYa76 Apr 18

The average household income is like 95k

Target XlTl73 Apr 18
