If you’re thinking about joining Twitter Eng/Product/Design please make sure you chat with someone who works in that team, especially product, eng and design. There are multiple teams with highly toxic environment on consumer side, be advised. Of course, people have different points of view and experiences not all teams are made equal, so I’d recommend doing research about your future team if you plan to join. This place destroyed my hope in humanity. Few things I saw in my 3 months here: - Finger pointing culture - you will be blamed for everything the company is doing wrong; - Leadership wants to solve problems without listening first; - C-level crying in all hands meeting; - Recruiters constantly ghost top candidates with no reason; - Constantly seen people throwing others under the bus; - Multiple cases of people swarming slack with cases of racism, bullying and unethical work relations - they are quickly silenced; - Want a performance culture but have no clue what that means - people are just resting and vesting; - Lots of really incompetent leaders; - Multiple delays and changes on evaluation process with disjointed comms; - Multiple people clearly up-leveled artificially to match the market; - On top pay is low. Look at recent media articles for details on how the culture is eroding. Internally we have lots of posts about the toxic culture, so I wanted to share this externally too. Twitter is the new Amazon without the business impact and performance.
This sucks…don’t know much about whats up with twitter these days but I was always under the impression their sh..t is cutting edge. Oh well
What do you know a out Amazon?
We all heard! PIP is the culture Overtime is normal Blood and sweat factory….
Isn’t 👆 normal Amazon ?
U engineering?
Lmao what? Some of those points are true but the wlb here is amazing. Would not say it’s like amazon at all.
This is just my experience possibly not be true for all teams, but I keep hearing the same thing in different teams on consumer side
Yeah if you being over worked here definitely would look for other options. Wlb is the one perk twitter has going for it.
🤔
They used the word blacklist in slack one time
You might be joking but as part of our "inclusive language" training blacklist and whitelist are actually some of the things we're not supposed to say 🤦♂️
Because of the CEO change or growing pains?
I don’t know I joined 3 months ago so I can’t tell
Twitter has accounted their RTO day to be 03/15
RTO is optional. Stop spreading misinformation.
May be new ceo doing that
The new Amazon 🤣
