Virtual onsite last week. Passed the initial huddle after virtual onsite, on Monday, according to recruiter. Recruiter saying there is no hiring committee in Twitter, but there is some kind of executive review to approve staff+ level offers. Haven’t heard back yet. Can Tweeps, or someone recently gone through the hiring process chime in, and help confirm if the delay is normal. I have other offers, which I need to decide on, but didn’t want Twitter to see it as desperation and let them take their time.
How were your interviews? What type of questions were asked?
🤞
Latest: according to recruiter, they might take several weeks to decide. This doesn’t seem normal. Does it? Do they really expect the candidate to hold on to their other offers for several weeks? If yes, any tips on how one can wait for so long without loosing out on existing offers?
Several weeks is not normal. It seems to me that the hiring manager wants to keep you as a backup option. I would suggest to give recruiter a hard deadline of 2-3 days saying that if you don't hear by then you will accept the other offer.
Thx. Do you think I can request talking to HM directly? Would it make a difference? Also is the entire coming week a holiday at Twitter? Recruiter seems to suggest that.
What level are you interviewing for and is it Tech/Non-tech? For some context- my hiring process took 3+ plus months ( Non tech exec role). There are about 5-6 rounds. Very late in the process, I got another offer, I told recruiter and things moved really fast from there.
Tech (SWE) staff+ role. I already told recruiter I have to decide on another offers soon. They said they cannot expedite, hence lets reconnect after few weeks to see if you are still available. I am confused, why would they continue to pursue my candidature for executive approval, if they are not sure if I would be available after few weeks. Isn’t that everyone’ waste of time. If instead they had said that they are really hoping I could wait, it would be more plausible. Am I missing anything?
They need to find diverse candidates to interview first before they can make you an offer
Is there a limit on the duration they need to perform these interviews. They can’t expect to hold a candidate for too long. Right? Is this only applicable to staff+ or all levels?
Did you end up getting the offer
All offers go up to an exec for approval, usually it is a rubber stamp.
Interesting. Thx. The recruiter made it look like, as if it may not be a done deal yet, and has a fair chance of rejection, if HM doesn’t prepare the packet well, and/or ask for more signals.
If you had negotiated comp out of normal range or something like that there’s a chance they won’t just stamp it. But when I was there i only ever saw delays not rejections
