A lot of crap on Blind about no-benefit layoffs at Twitter. However based on the email, some benefits are expected to continue
No details on the numbers?
"YOU'RE FIRED" Did people actually receive this via email? Heartless.
That was added for clarity on the post maybe?
Would you rather take a shot in the head or get shot in the gut and bleed to death? Better to get to the point
4mth is quite generous
Depends on other factors. For example, if you were working towards a bonus or completed your first 9 months and were expecting your annual RSU, then you could be getting ripped off. The severance still needs to include some solid cash.
Can’t complain when I used to get 1-4weeks
That’s a generous termination
Did they really used your are fired as the email subject/headline wow
No, this was a subsequent email the company recieved. The fact that you are not hearing aboht this elsewhere directly from twitter employees tells ypu a lot about how well it is being handled and how well Elon is taking care of folks that are being let go.
I thought it’s only Gavin Belson that does this non-working thing.
“None-Working Notice period”, “company police”, “work you do a Twitter”. I guess the people responsible for writing up these emails were also fired.
Right? How do we know this is even real
They are just following CA law to avoid lawsuits
Who cares about “why?” At least impacted folks will get more time
Is CA law 3 months pay?
Tweeps getting paid to sit on their asses for 4 months and do nothing. So, more or less what they’ve already been doing this entire time.
Turn in their laptops will be the most productive things they've ever done
I understand that’s for the US. There’s a lot of international tweeps affected and they seem to be in the dark. But the “you are fired” one seems to be playing by the WARN rules. The key fact for people on visa is the “you will remain employed until February 2023” part. This is really good news for them
Does “ remaining employed “ mean they lose some of the severance if they start another job (which requires not being employed elsewhere) ??
Cruise isn’t that obvious?
