Two recruiters reached out to me regarding same startup, gave different pay ranges, need advice
Hello, I have some interest in a fully remote startup using Rust and web assembly, first recruiter messaged me saying 110-150k+ equity and didn't provide the company name; second told me company name, range of $90-180k didnt mention equity. I checked the start-ups website after this and it's actually 90-180k + equity. I haven't told either recruiter I'm interested yet, and only replied to the second one asking about salary. I was originally targeting 300k TC for next job, but now I'm thinking of using this as a stepping stone while I leetcode for a year. Startup only has 3 million in funding from what I can gather. What should I do? Current TC: 128k
If they are third party recruiters, they have no say in the pay. The one with a smaller range is probably just guessing whatโs realistic for you. Thereโs no advantage to applying directly since it shouldnโt affect TC.
Don't mention this to either recruiters. Speak with the higher TC guy and lc
