It's free and taken out of the settlement if you have a good case. Otherwise, it varies from firm to firm. Where one of my friends work, they charge a low five figure retainer
If you don’t have a very very solid case with well documented evidence- then don’t do this. You will end up losing a good deal Of money and feel even more foolish and broken in the end
I will take his $$ if it makes him happy
File a complaint with the EEOC or your state’s department of labor. They will investigate and litigate on your friend’s behalf. No fees. And, companies hate it.
Lawyers make anywhere between 500/hour to 1000/hour. I would figure at least tens of hours. It’s not worth it…
