Product Owner at Vanguard
I am a Sr Technical PO at Assurant making $135K as base with 10% bonus and 6% 401k match. Have an offer from Vanguard (Level TS03) with $150K as base and 2 additional bonuses plus 4% 401k match. Want to understand the wlb, pace of work at Vanguard and is it is a decent pay to switch? Background - I have close to 13 years of experience in IT and joined Assurant recently. Cannot say I hate working nor I love working here given the number of offshore calls and culture at Assurant.
Company culture is quite good. People are willing to help each other and the company really does invest in your growth AT Vanguard. Work life balance is insane, as in incredible. In fact, maybe too good, a lot of people seem to not do any work at all. Pace is pretty slow as there’s a lot of bureaucracy involved. As a result, a lot of decisions are dependent on business approval. A task that might take a day for a developer to write, could take much longer. A good company nonetheless, but if you’re concerned with really learning as much as possible and developing your skills, might not be the best.
