New Relic
I’m interviewing for a sales role. Saw they just went private. Feeling uneasy. What’s the sentiment at New Relic? #newrelic
Thinking of the Roman empire.. and other relics.
Morale is low. The deal hasn’t closed yet so we feel like we’re working with a lot of dead men walking or are dead men walking ourselves.
Educate me on why one should feel uneasy if a company goes private? (Free to do layoffs whenever? )
I would say private via *private equity* is the scary part. Private Equity generally isn’t that strategic beyond “cut costs,” it is not like Dell going private via its founder Michael Dell who totally knows the business.
Sentiment is not good but I do know many AEs that ARE happy and making great money. Depends on team and many sales managers I am guessing will turnover anyways if they are not performing. Can’t speak for everyone in GTM of course but heat is on the leaders and not ICs at present moment. Feel free to DM.
