I am currently working as a product manager for UBS. With the recent agile transformation people who are supposed to become Crew Product Leads ended up as Product Manager or Chapter Lead. Currently I report to a Crew Product Lead who has a typical project manager attitude; doesn’t know shit about the product and on top of that he keeps correcting my English in the emails and keeps cutting me off in the meeting. The moment I start he says ‘Hold on’. Whenever I need his support he is nowhere to be seen. My previous boss didn’t liked this crew product lead and moved to a different team. What’s the worse part is in the name of seniority he made another product manager as overall lead to oversee the product that I am working on. Now this thing will create an obvious signal to my POD that I am not upto my job. I told the same in my one on one and he said that I do not have effective communication skills and so many unrelated things like I work from home, I don’t see you collaborate etc etc etc. For godsake I delivered some best in class work now with this new crew product lead I don’t know what my future will be in UBS. Am I thinking too much or should I just go with the flow. Pay is not great and work from home is only benefit. Not really a benefit because half the team is in Zurich and India and I am the only product manager based out of US, and I have to get up way early in the morning to catch up with the team.
