Now that our employers are telling us to work from home in order to avoid spreading Coronavirus, this is the time to shine. There already has been an increasing trend towards more WFH and better WLB fostering greater productivity from employees. This coronavirus outbreak could have a silverlining that it acts as a catalyst for a WFH movement. Let’s solidify the idea that commuting and spending long hours at the office actually decreases productivity rather than increasing it. Do NOT get lazy and play video games or watch Netflix just because you’re WFH and spending less time commuting. Spend the time you would have been commuting by absolutey crushing it. We can make our employers question the idea of spending billions of dollars on office spaces, which would open up possibilities for more affordable housing deveopments instead, and the money saved can go directly into our salaries. Fuck the office, fuck the commute, and fuck hours wasted in pointless, redundant meetings. #workfromhomeforlife #coronavirus #wfh #wyaofh TC: 🥜
What’s the point of wfh, if you have to wyaofh?
What’s the point of spending an hour in traffic each way, or in a disgusting, overcrowded train, just to do the same work at your office that you could have done at home?
I don’t spend an hour in traffic - I love my commute - I bike or run to work, I thrive off the energy in my office and being around people - I hate WFH - I cant wait to get back to the office
I like the idea as well, however, face time and ad hoc discussions in a hallway or water cooler area are very beneficial to myself and others. I'm not convinced WFH will work for everyone or every team. But I'm interested in the results of this.
Can’t hurt to try. I’m not even necessarily advocating for permanently WFH, but I think it should be the norm that people can WFH whenever they want and can choose when they want to go into the office. Don’t make me sit in rush hour for a 9am meeting if we could have just had a slack conversation.
Middle managers will never let WFH be a thing. Whose subordinates shoulders will they breathe on if WFH became a reality?
Slack is a pretty effective way for my manager to get a hold of me and see what the current state of my projects are
Time to raid the grocery stores now we have to make our sandwich.
OP, most people spend their WFH jerking off 😀
You know me so well 😳
Food at home ain't free yo
Oh boo hoo your life is so hard
This post is awesome, totally agree that Remote Work needs to be considered a legitimate option and not just an occasional perk.
WFH is for pussies
I hate WFH.
