I am on F1 visa and opt. My layover is 3 hrs in frankfurt. Do i need a transit visa for germany. Flying with united/Lufthansa Please let me know.
No
No visa needed as long as you don’t go out of the airport (pass immigration).
I entered details on united airline tool for checking if i need visa. It said united airlines need visa for transit. It was too confusing and couldn't get what they exactly what to say. Need someone who has travelled with them
If you have US visa you don’t need transit visa
Thanks a ton bloom!
Ask your immigration attorney, don’t crowdsource this
Why not? Frugality is the essence here
Nope! Transited through Frankfurt this year without transit visa. I bought 2 bottles of cologne because they were like $25 cheap. FYI:- some flights have 2 halts in Germany in that case you will need a transit visa.
Check the German govt: https://www.germany.info/us-en/service/05-VisaEinreise/airport-transit-visa/924624
Nope. No visa required. I recently did that. Seattle to Mumbai via Frankfurt.
Call Lufthansa. They should know the gates. Frankfurt has like all European airports a Schengen and a non Schengen zone. If both gates are within the same area you do not need a visa, that is very likely but pls verify
All international terminals in Frankfurt are accessible without crossing the border. I find that flying Lufthansa all the way is easier as there’s always a bit of extra security when I switch to United on the way to US. If both flights are Lufthansa, it’s much smoother.
I doubt Blind is a good place to ask this. Try Quora.
Can't get a valid answer. I feel tech community on blind would be more helpful here
Agree. Quora should have the answer you need, since it’s a good Indian website.
