Facebook (FB) TPM HW IC5
have a offer from FB for IC5 in the AR/VR team as TPM. the role is similar to what I do at Apple but dont expext to grow futher. Currently TPM/EPM as ICT3 w/ TC: ~$230k should i consider it? also given we will have our annual review coming up. FB offer: IC5, Base: $182k, RSU: $325k ( increased from $210k) and Sig-on: $50k (increased from $0) TC @AAPL (expected in 2020): $240k ~ $250k (including future bonus) TC @FB: ~262k YOE: ~9 yrs this is in Bay area and I have a Masters #hardware #interview #engineer #salary #compensation

Yup — you have performance bonus every 6 months
262 TC for L5 definitely sounds low. But I guess HW PMs are paid less? Software PMs would be 350-400k range for L5.
I would guess, given SW is the king at FB
Do you have a ms or phd degree?

Does 182 base include 15% bonus (I.e actual base of 158)? If not you’re sitting at TC of 182*1.15 + 325/4 = 291k which sounds pretty darn good for HW
TPMs making more than hw Engineering
If you need a change, sure FB should be a good step up from Apple. TC is almost same. Both companies will work you hard. Fb is better for high performers. Depends on if you like the team.
Yup TC is almost the same. Team at both the the companies are good. At FB it is team that is getting built and depending on HW does it will grow. At Apple - it is pressure and intensity. Hoping to know if I can push for more?
