first time mom. newborn baby. cried all day today. does anyone here have experience overcoming post partum depression? TC: $300K YOE: 9 #parenting #workingparent
Really sorry you are going through this. My SO went through something similar and it took a few years until things were Ok. I hope you get the help you need. I also honestly thought the post was about privacy design document when I opened the post :)
First of all, congratulation on being a new mom! Go seek help from the pediatrician. PPD deserves professional attention, period. They can get you hooked up with resources to help with it. When intervention is done early it's much easier. Also, most hospitals even have free drop in sessions with a nurse or another consultant to help figure out a plan for handling a fussy baby. Even if the hospital was not the one where you gave birth, they will have sessions for anyone to come. From personal experience, it's totally okay to lean on others for help and get some time off. It's very much needed, babies can be tough in the first few weeks.
Learn simple things: - babies cry. They cannot talk, cannot write, the only way they can show their emotions when they're uncomfortable is cry. - have a lot of sleep. A lot. Don't fall for all these fancy "teach your kid to read when they're 6 month old" etc crap. Have your sleep whenever the baby sleeps, if baby cries and you're sleepy - ask someone to help if possible. Seems like a small thing, but your mental health is strong only when you get to sleep. - No one is born to be a good parent. There is no such thing as a perfect parent. You'll learn how to deal with things once they come. It's like building a beta version app and pushing it to prod. You'll get bugs, fix them, and new ones will appear soon.
Thank you. Needed this.
Get professional help ASAP. Dont put it off, and dont assume its "just you" or "it will just get better"
Congratulations on being a mother. I hope I am some day before it’s too late. ☺️
What a huge life adjustment. That comes with a strong amount of stress - I am a single 27M and I cried for a few weeks when I adopted a puppy - and that’s just a puppy. Please seek professional guidance first, and then try to rely on friends and family for support. It’s expected and encouraged.

Speak to a specialist ASAP. It’s easier to get things under control if you start earlier. Please do not ignore your health. Also, babies cry. A lot. It’s not a reflection on you as a mother. Some actually cry because they get spooked by their own cries
I think She cried. Not the baby.
Thanks Expedia :) I cried because the baby cried. It cried a lot. Decoupling that from my worth as a mother is a major thing. Need to work on that.
