It’s been buried in the deluge of Trump bullshit over the last five years. The list of crimes and awful behavior is so long that I can’t fault anyone for not being able to keep up. Trump on China has been a master class in convincing his supporters that he’s doing one thing while doing almost the complete opposite.

They wouldn’t at least created vacuum for China to expand. They would have followed up / read and understand the intel coming from China on COVID and won’t cry like stupid shit idiot and say Chyyyyyyyna deceived me after praising President Xi in the beginning to cover his incompetence and being inept.
The US abdicated its role in standing up to China under Trump. In doing so, China has expanded its influence significantly in trade, economic and security realms. Trump’s total failure in leadership caused this; because of him, it’ll be doubly hard to regain our footing to combat China.
