There seems to be a large backlog of people trying to go to India for visa stamping which is pushing out available OFC dates for drop box quite a bit. This is generally frustrating we are unable to plan trips based on events but rather forced to plan travel based on available dates. Are there folks considering going to Mexico or Canada to get their visa stamped instead? I understand the risk of getting into “Administrative Processing” which will make things uncertain with respect to duration of stay in Mexico/Canada. But I want to check the pulse here to see if anybody has ventured to go to Mexico/Canada and how their experience was. #h1b #stamping #india
I got mine from Domincan Republic two months ago. But you can’t get it from there any longer. Nice place threw in a vacation as well
I had a project in Boston at the time and drove up to Montreal, but that was way before the whole COVID BS. If you dropped off the passport before 10 am, you got it back stamped at 3 pm. YMMV, especially with the current lockdowns in Canada.
What Canadian visa did you have?
Where do you check to see if Canada/Mexico are allowing stamping there? Is there a status site to monitor? I'm also looking for answers on this same scenario
Thanks a bunch! 🙏

This does not say anything about not allowing https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/nonimmigrants-present-visiting-canada-mexico.html
