On your main personal phone, do you get service from a direct carrier (ATT Verizon TMob) or a MVNO (boost, mint, etc)? If you tried MVNO’s before and went back to carrier, what were the biggest dealbreakers from MVNO? TC260
I have been using Google Fi for a long time now. As they use Sprint and T-Mobile networks, it's been fine except in areas I wouldn't expect coverage anyways.
they’re a strange one as almost the same price as direct after discounts. Most others are significantly cheaper.
Yeah I pay like $95/month for single line. Need to find a alternative.
Xfinity Mobile here. Works fine, no complaints. I've always used MVNOs though. Not paying $100+ per month — especially with contact obligations. I assumed most people went that route because it was easier to finance their phone.
they got phone support or chat only? 1 quirk is they only seem to offer service if you’re in Xfinity home internet area
I'd use Visible if I couldn't stay with Xfinity Mobile. Very similar. They have both support options.
AT&T Prepaid. Data priority is below Postpaid, but above all the MVNOs. I have the $300/year 16GB/month plan. No complaints. Works fine in Mexico and Canada. Everywhere else I get a local sim or Airalo for data and do WiFi calling over the data sim.
did not know prepaid is below postpaid; do you ever get no data with good signal? don’t remember it happening with carrier prepaid but very obvious on MVNO’s
Never no data. I've seen it getting like 1mbps at airports on 5G when I should be getting over 500. If you are in a generally congested area you can expect sub-10mbps a lot of the time. I have seen plenty of MVNO with just non-functional data in congested areas.

I switched from tmobile to mint. Overall reception coverage seems pretty bad.
prolly the most deprioritized I’ve tried, had no data quite often in good signal areas
