Hi, Planning to accept a VP offer at Jefferies and wanted to understand the work life balance comparable to other banks. Also wanted to know work and firing culture if any. How is the tech compared to other investment banks? Any insight is highly appreciated! New TC: 200K
WLB depends on manager/team. But overall is a good culture very innovative and collaborative. As for firing it’s more on performance based and to hire you dedicate time and money so it’s not like they don’t want you to succeed.
If you have other options, consider those first. Jefferies is a sweatshop and with the new management in tech, it is worse. Used to be a good place but not anymore. Also, depends on which group. Equities tech is better. Some infra teams too.
How is fixed income tech? And are bonuses more or less consistent? Like around 10-15% of base? I understand it's a bank and bonuses are not guaranteed, still want to get some idea.
Anywhere from 0-30% of base. Likely 10% ish first year. 15 if you can walk on water
I was fired from there
Can I DM you if you are ok with it? I have some questions
yes go ahead
