Hey folks, Context: about 6 months ago, i got offers at both Uber (Eats) and Facebook. Accepted Eats after lots of deliberation. My Facebook recruiter reached out again last week and given the instability of the gig economy world, I’m very interested. Recruiter said next step would be to chat with a hiring manager if they’re interested. What would a hiring manager’s interest level in me look like given that Id been given an offer relatively recently (but declined)? #offer #career #tech #fb #uber #design #productdesign
I don't think it would matter to a hiring manager unless you specifically declined a position with that hiring manager. And even then it might not matter.
Shouldn't you be thankful? They know how you did in the interviews, and they know about the layoffs.
do it, they don’t care if you rejected in the past if you were a strong candidate and express interest now. as a prev hiring manager, we were certainly respectful if the timing then wasnt right for you and wouldn’t dock you points
Sweet, thanks for this context. Any idea how long i can expect the process to take? I.e. 1) recruiter sharing my profile out —> 2) manager showing interest —> 3) me chatting w hiring manager —> 4) decision
wildly depends on your recruiter and whether they have a good idea of which teams you might be a good fit for but as fast as 3 weeks from start to finish, esp now that everything is remote
Do it. You have nothing to lose. Can't quantify interest level, but they wouldn't reach out if they weren't interested.
