How common are firings in Uber India. I got an offer from Uber and was wondering on how common are the firing in Uber India offices like Bangalore, Hyderabad, etc. I heard from one ex-uber, that sometimes the situation was that they fire some guys today without giving any proper reasons and start hiring again tomorrow for a newly created role. He was there from Q2 2019 - Q3 2020(which was the worst period so far for uber) so wondering what's the current status of uber India offices. Is it still the same, that is it's still filled with a lot of uncertainties, etc. Or has it improved. It would be helpful if uberers can provide some insight. Poll results doesn't matter much as much as current and ex-Uber India employees's insights. So, please try to share some pointers from your experience. There are occasional cases of PIP. But mostly in the US. They've been hiring aggressively in India so you really have to shoot yourself in the foot to get a PIP/layoff at Uber India.
Thanks no soup. If you don't mind can you share if you are working in India offices? Is there's anything like Bangalore>Hyderabad or Hyd>Bangalore.
Yes. I'm in the India office. Domestic transfers are a thing. Minimum of 1 year needs to be spent in the current role as per policy. You'd have to re-interview similar to an international transfer (2+ years)
