Uber L5a work scope?
Hey Uber folks, What's the scope of work at L5a SWE? At Google L5 is about: 1. Solving ambiguous problems impacting the product. Full ownership and responsibility. 2. Leading small teams (2/3) engineers during execution. 3. In some cases formally being a Tech lead. How does this compare to L5a at Uber? Current TC: 300k Uber 5a offer: 400k #tech

At Uber it involves complaining about TC and lack of promos to 5B to manager on 1:1s, finding another person or team to blame on problems rather than actually fixing the problem, and writing up a 10 page ERD over the course of 2 months detailing a new framework you’d like to build to solve a one line bug.
Why would you wanna go from G to Uber? Doesn’t make much sense

Same. I’m an L5 tech lead with 3 engineers on my team. My org has had low attrition, but I guess I actually asked for this and my leadership gave it to me. I own a $2B product with full ownership. I saw it as fast path to L6. TC 270k 4 yoe
