Uber will be extending an offer in the next 1-2 days. They mentioned that they will be sending a form today to fill in with compensation information in order to build my offer. Any good tips on the negotiation process would be appreciated. The offer will be for a General Manager L6 Ops role. Thank you
What’s your current title and compensation?
Manager in Retail 320k TC
Manager of what? Operations? Product? I’m interested in GM roles
Which city?
San Francisco
I thought it was no longer legal for companies in SF to request compensation history.
Do you have any advice?
Compensation information != Compensation history
The role will ultimately be based in Latin America.
You won’t get anything close to $320K for a latam role.
Thanks for the input. I will take into consideration in the future. Would the adjust the salary down when they transfer?
Is that true for any role, Lalu?
Yes, the moment you transfer to a new country the comp is adjusted per the wage market of that country.
Thanks, Lalu. I appreciate the input. Offer has not come yet. What would you say is reasonable for an L6 in Latam across all compensation buckets. What’s more negotiable?
No idea. GM is a non tech ops role so comp is lower than the roles in the Tech ladder. Latam market is not as highly competitive as NA.
Lalu, I have my offer
But the RSU is only 3.5k RSUs. They say it is the cap for this L6 Ops role. Salary is 150k plus $35k (annual cash bonus) and $60k in annual RSU refresher. These last two can go up to 2X. Thoughts?
SF or LatAM city?
TC or GTFO
What is GTFO?
It means get the fuck out.
