I know officially they have anchor days but are people really going in? If I get an offer how negotiable is remote? TC 150k (not at state farm)
Unless you are hired for L5B, it is very hard to get remote but you can definitely try
People are really going in (becomes a performance issue of you're consistently skipping). And remote approval is unlikely as above mentioned.
+1, couple of folks in our team were not going in and they have been “encouraged “ to start complying.
Never go in, nobody in my team does either, nobody has said anything since
I heard you get checkmarked for this though, did they ever send a warning or alert whatsoever?
To get approved for remote you need to be L5B or above, and also live 50 miles away from an office. Others have to go in 50% of the time. Most people I know do go in regularly. Ask your HM/team if they go to the office and expect you to.
I believe if already 50+ miles away you qualify for remote dependent on your team arrangements
You won't get remote approved if you live within 50 miles of an office or are l5a or lower. Everyone's expected to come in on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They do track badge swipes and folks in my team who don't come in regularly have been asked to do so.
Ewwwww
Even 5B remote requests are getting denied now.
If you don't want to go in, just say no and apply elsewhere.
Yes, 50% or you get fired. They are pretty upfront about this. CEO has also mentioned this several times at all hands. If you aren’t willing to come in, then you should be equally candid about this, and do remote only, or not accept the offer
Gross company
How do they enforce 50%? Can't you just swipe in and then leave?
Heavily depends on manager. But most managers too scared to give freedom to their team.
Is tue and thurs mandatory or can I do 2 consecutive days instead if I live pretty far ?
Nah, tues and thurs are mandatory. It’s pretty stupid Because everyone comes in on those days and meeting rooms are hard to get and the lunch lines are very long. Also, it’s not actually just Tuesdays and Thursdays- It is five days in a two week period, and four of those have to be Tues and Thursday
