Uber Seattle

How is the culture at Uber Seattle ? Is it a good place for senior engineer with family and kids ? Or is it as bad as uber at SF ?

Uber Jan 6, 2017

It's not bad as SF but as bad as I wouldn't recommend for a guy with family and kids because I care about your kids and they do not deserve to go through this.

Tableau FSs5 Jan 6, 2017

Why do you guys keep rejecting me? I want to suffer too!

Uber Jan 6, 2017

You are more than welcome!

Uber Meritocrcy Jan 6, 2017

It is great. We have lots of folks from Ms with family and kids

Uber 261fb2 Jan 6, 2017

Lots of senior engineers have kids here. They seem to make it work. But you will need a supportive partner to take some of the pickup/dropoff load.

Uber LloydBanks Jan 6, 2017

Agreed

Uber chkm8 Jan 7, 2017

It's really hard with kids. You either need a supportive partner, or parents that can watch kids, or money for full-time nanny...etc. Daycare pickup is close to impossible to make with Seattle traffic.

Uber Seattle is a different culture comparing to HQ. People are very friendly, not many folks are at the office after 6.

Uber Jan 6, 2017

Was! Until TP fired! Not anymore.

Uber (•)(•) Jan 7, 2017

You think TP shouldn't have been fired?

Facebook FIol63 Jan 6, 2017

TimP was fired? What happened?

Uber Jan 7, 2017

He was not political enough for Uber! HQ clowns chewed him and spit him out. He was a nice guy tho.

Uber (•)(•) Jan 7, 2017

That is not true.

Uber Seattle is awesome, there are some really talented people working there on some super cool project. I myself was tempted to get transferred to Uber Seattle.

Uber InfraGuy Jan 8, 2017

Tell me one of those super cool projects?

Uber lovemenot Jan 8, 2017

I joined Uber not long ago and love it. Worked at amzn and Ms, Uber is Seattle is by far the best, but depends on the team you are in. Like any other company some are great some are OK.

Google mute Jan 9, 2017

Lol. After Amazon and MS, you are sort of become ingrained in that culture.
