Are you gonna bank money OP?
Some. Not as much really. This seems very cheap.
How bad is the ratio?
Congrats, so you guys get comp bumps or what?
Assuming 1x preference (2.65-0.9/2.65) = 0.66. Did you guys have RSUs for 2/3 equity value?
What happens to Postmates employees? Sadly I’m guessing Uber will not take on much if any of the headcount
Had an offer for 60k options at 1.88 strike price a few years ago. Looks like valuation stayed flat or lower. Recruiter and manager said $15B valuation was likely and totally within reach 😂
60k options now turning into Uber stocks isn’t half bad. Dropbox has great TC, so I wonder if you would have come ahead taking the Postmates offer now.
Sorry to say, but it seems a round of layoffs is coming. Good luck, op.
Best of luck Postmates bros
Do you work in the Uber eats division by any chance? Wondering what your thoughts are. I mean, sun-setting will take at least a few years, and transferring engineers internally is a lot cheaper than hiring new ones, so I don’t see there really being any layoffs.
Everyone at Uber including execs are super proud of our tech. I personally have mixed opinions. So I don't see us growing Postmates. The most telling anecdote is what happened with Lime where we invested in them and then shut down JUMP almost immediately after. This is pretty different but I could see Postmates layoffs happening down the line like you said, maybe 6 months from close. It seems like a market share play and immediately shutting it down seems like a waste. Covid is making us take extreme measures so I think any decisions will be expedited.
good exit for Postmates. I believe they were last compared to Grubhub, Uber Eats and Doordash
All stock? Lol. Secondary offering coming.
