Can you tell us about Uber benefits & perks? Anyone able to compare to Google? What's the travel policy like? Healthcare options? Free rides?!
Which are the perks you care about in Google. I guess the main one missing is subsidized massages but in Google you anyway don’t have time for that. Practically, you wouldn’t miss much. Perhaps shuttles if you use them.
I miss shuttle, dental insurance, massage, free parking, learning reimbursement and 401K.
We do have dental insurance. Instead of shuttle, we have Uber credits but I agree it’s not enough. Learning reimbursement and 401k match require a company to be very profitable, which Uber is not, but hopefully the IPO will leave you with enough money to do that on your own! :)
Does uber offer 401K matching? Or Roth IRA mega backdoor?
No.
$68 gym reimbursement per month.
Phone benefit. Its 50 per month. Or take corporate plan (with tmo) and that’s free.
They give you the phone (iPhone 7 or a high end galaxy) you agree to company installed software. Unlimited talk and text on Tmo with data. Some international roaming as well. Don’t think there’s family plans yet
Whoa that's a cool benefit that the phone is included
Not sure what travel policy means, if you meant T&E (what Uber will pay for if they ask you to travel for some reason) or if it means PTO policy; clarify and I can answer. Employees get monthly credits that vary with locals but for SF it’s 197.00 USD plus a flat 17% price reduction that applies before credits so if bill is $100.00 it deducts $83 from credits until it runs out, and if you burn through the credits the 17% off still applies. There’s also free lunch and dinner in the office although the quality can be hit or miss.
Actually would be good to know PTO policies as well as travel and expenses policies. Also, healthcare options for ppl with families
Does google provide free rides?
