Uber interview experience
Had an interview with Uber last week: 1. Coding : Aced it (2 LC) 2. Coding: OK ish ( 2 LC med) 3. System Design: Above Average ~ Aced . 4. Manager: Aced 5. Bar Raiser: Aced This is for L5. What are my chances? How are sentiments at UBER. YOE: 9 TC: 285

Did uber start interviewing?
There is a headcount freeze, not hiring freeze.
I would say you have decent chance to get 5a, your yoe makes you look like a 5b candidate, but based on your interview format, too many coding rounds, I do not think they treated you as a 5b candidate....
Probably a dumb question.. whats 5a / 5b at uber
5a is Senior Software Engineer and 5b is Senior Software Engineer 2
I would not join any transportation company for a while. There are bound to be layoffs in the coming months and new joinees would be easy pickings. Uber has already withdrawn guidance of profitability for the year. No one knows how long it would take for the industry to return to normal.

Hard to say. Just because you think you aced all the interviews doesn't mean the interviewers agree.

I believe you have a great chance to get a L5A or L5B offer in such a low stock price time : ) I recently got a L5A offer. Similar interview experience with you.
Why you leaving the relative safety of google to go to Uber in this climate? I am sure they have lay-offs coming soon.
Big scope and better compensation. Also I will be joining in a few months. Hope the situation will be more clear at that time.
