In what is common sense to everyone except silicon valley hipsters, ECJ is likely to rule that Uber is a transport provider and not just a tech platform http://tcrn.ch/2q6fGGn
Wait, do people actually think Uber is not a transport provider?
Ask uber, they don't think so
Uber also thinks so. But the moment they agree to it, it's basically game over for them from economic stand point.
Uber likes to call themselves a marketplace or whatever and put drivers into fake self employment status, so they can ignore transportation regulations and labour laws, and undercut prices.
Haha... "labour"
yeah and eBay is a shop, and WhatsApp is a phone company, Android is a phone company and YouTube is television and Amazon is a bookshop and Netflix is a cinema and techcrunch is a newspaper
eBay would be a shop if it controls the prices of goods a seller offers.
ebay controls the service fee and who can be on the platform just like the government that sets the base pay for taxis and controls who can have a license. taxi companies don't set the price.
