Currently E4 at Meta, got senior offers from Uber and Lyft, TCs are similar(around 470k), which one should I choose? Due to the hiring freeze / layoff rumors of Uber, I'm leaning towards Lyft for now. TC 250k, YOE 5 Update: OP currently on visa with approved I-140, same as my partner, can switch to H4 if needed
Lyft is riskiest option. I think you have two options 1. Meta and 2. Uber. Btw uber is not layoffs as on 05/09
Lyft is much more worst
Lyft’s financials from latest quarter are looking much worse than Uber. For safety Meta is the best choice.
Should I join Uber and buy the dip? It's not easy to reject their offer and leave 220k on the table.
Then what is the point of this poll/post? You shouldn’t care at all if all that matters is TC.
There is a reason they are giving you easy money and level when you couldn't get it other good companies
Stay at Meta. Uber and Lyft have high risk in this climate. Edit - Check with your current manager at Meta if it's ok to boomerang in case things go south at your new gig.
You want OP to ask manager about boomerang before giving notice?
Yes. Exactly what I said. Good managers are always aware of the risk of loosing employees due to pay, work etc. Always good to have a good relationship with your manager in case you want to come back.
If you don’t have visa issue, then Uber. Else stay
why so many people voted stay? LOL 250 -> 470, you don't say no to $.
Because OP gave no context to their question. Someone who is on visa with a family and mortgage has a different risk profile than a non-visa single person in their 20’s renting an apartment
well Meta is a no-go if you need a GC.
Uber > meta >>>>> lyft
Uber! Lyft is more dangerous, Uber is definitely worth it with this RSU price.

If your team does daily standups, your manager is a micromanager
You don’t think Lyft will follow suit?
+1 they probably carry the same risk so I wouldn’t make it the deciding factor
My friend at Lyft told me CEO has confirmed that Lyft will not layoff engineers in the near future
