Does Uber pay severence pkg to its employees after layoff? Those who were part of last layoff at uber, could you please shed some light? Asking for my friend as he became father recently and was worried about the situation. He joined Uber last week and this info came out today :( Please do not troll! #layoffs #Covid19

I would guess min 2 months of pay, this is mass lay-off so it is a different situation, you can google warn act to learn a bit more

Ohhh, that does sound like a special case, I wouldn’t wanna comment on something that I don’t know. But if I were him, I would try to contact his previous company (in case he needs it) and if he is a new grad, just have a back up plan and ask for referrals in blind.

Your friend was foolish to join Uber at this time - if the thought was let’s join when it’s low it’s foolish - greed sadly leads to pain .

Last time I think it was one month of leave, two-four weeks of base severance, and two weeks for each year at the company. This time may be less generous though

I think it means you get paid for 1 month but you do not need to go to work. Your legal status is still valid in this 1 month.
Yes free flight back to hometown. But honestly with 1 week + don’t expect a lot of severance- max 1 month salary

Lyft did 17% . Uber lay-off news came with cto departure news - it should likely happen this week - the more they delay the more the anxiety
