Terrible idea
There's nothing Yelp has that other major tech companies can't replicate in about 6 months.
Not about the tech, the value is in the users.
The users aren’t that valuable.
Why spend money buying Yelp, when you can just partner with them.
Wasn't there a time when G actually wanted to acquire Yelp and they declined the offer? Probably would've been a good exit.
Yeah. Good G didn't buy it. G has now a decent enough competing product.
I think the users and brand are valuable. It's the goto for me for what it does
Agreed.
Yelp is dead. Google maps has it built in
I still use yelp I stress of google maps
Uber can't spare the cash

It’s not a bad idea, Yelp generates 200m in cash flow every year and a billion in revenue. It’s one way to lock down users
The trouble is our CEO won’t sell Yelp for 2b
