Uber was on fire because of their “frat” and immature culture which they were slowly moving away from, but just when the company was in flux with its own culture the pandemic hit. At amazon there is an aggressive pip plan, but atleast you see it coming. At uber you will just get a call from hr straight up firing you because of downsizing In terms of wlb all of uber is worse purely because they are still new and have a lot of building to do, especially now.

Buddy we are hiring big time from Amazon and the culture is becoming increasingly like Amazon. All we’re missing is the back heavy equity vesting to have the two places be pretty much the same. Come here is you care about operational excellence, doing more with less (we have thin margins), and have faith in a company that has never turned in a profit in its first 10 years, while disrupting an industry. Of course I’m talking about Amazon. And Uber.
No PIP at Uber unless when it comes to massive layoff, WLB is good for most teams
