Wait you're at FB with 3 yoe and you're switching jobs for 180k TOC? You should already be e4 and soon e5 and that put your TC at least 220k - 300k. Unless you really really love Uber/lyft or can match a much higher offer, joining them doesn't financially make sense. Even if you're PIPed still market price is higher than 180 tc for 3 yoe at any FAANG.
FB doesn’t have as many opportunities these days as it used to. Also not everyone is okay with 997 culture.
Totally agree with you broforce (also I love the game broforce). At least I hate it so far. Still that doesn't mean op shouldn't get a higher TC for the yoe at FB.
All else the same go with the market leader. This is a winner take all market.
If it were a winner take all market, Lyft wouldn't be gradually increasing market share - we'd be bleeding out. There is room for at least 2 players to exist with sufficient scale. Beyond a certain size, the network effects have diminishing returns in ridesharing.
Lyft is not gaining CP for over half a year now as people are realizing that it’s not any better. It will also be really hard to compete with uber in the long run without having businesses with higher margins (like uber eats and freight). So although there is enough space for multiple players in the market, Lyft would have to deal with some serious challenges to keep growing.
Base is 180? Or tc is 180? Leaving fb because of wlb?
They're both good. 180k tc is pretty bad at FB
Uber - the scale and ambition is bigger. We are much more prominent and will be better brand on the resume. We have better talent at all levels.

Lyft- well focused service which everyone loves. You’ll have a bigger impact. We’ve better talent. Uber, however is good at copying our features.
You guys are employees. You are the cogs in these machines. Stop associating your ego with these machines. Keep it linked to your personal achievements.
Good at copying your features? Lol. 95% of what our apps do we did first. Maybe 5% was done by Lyft first.
Uber if you care about quality of tech. Go to any decent conference, so many talks from Uber, hardly any from Lyft.
