Asians - what are your thoughts on asian female white male ?
Hi Blinders, need your help deciding between Uber and Twitter. Currently I have a verbal offer from Uber L4. Had a team matching session with the Search team and Market place matching team. I'm more inclined towards marketplace matching because this role is Seattle based. Other role is in SF and I'm considering Seattle only for COL. Twitter is ready to offer a senior swe role and this is mostly going to be in some cloud infrastructure team. Twitter has remote options which means I can even go and live on a mountain. JK I have had SRE DevOps automation experience up until now, and I really wanted to move towards backend development roles. Away from infrastructure. Uber is offering me the role I always wanted. Could you guys help me with how much I can expect in terms of pay in Uber for L4. Also any thoughts Uber Search team vs Uber marketplace matching would be really helpful. Any insights about Twitter also would be great. The initial team I interviewed with Twitter did not want me so the recruiter is trying to match me with another team. So I don't have team info in case of Twitter. YOE 5 TC 105k #engineering #software #swe #uber #twitter #offer #negotiation #negotiateoffer #tech
Definitely Twitter if they can find you a decent team. It seems like their Seattle office gets the best pay-to-COL ratio of any of the three big cities (SF, NY, Seattle).
I'll probably go for a remote option if I choose Twitter. Do you think the pay varies greatly if I choose remote? I have always been on the east so I have only heard about high COL on the west. Not sure how bad it'll be.
Are you suggesting Twitter for job stability?
OP can you tell how did you prepare for SD? In a bit detail.
OP how did you get interview from Twitter? Just applied online? Also is it senior software engineer at Twitter?
I applied for a role on LinkedIn. I was surprised as well. I never got called for Twitter up until now. Again this was an infrastructure role. And the interview wasn't very hard either. I made some stupid blunders.
Yes, it's senior swe.
