A few months ago, someone in my extended family got into a terrible medical emergency. They raised a low 6 figures on GoFundMe. Fast forward, they are receiving death threats to pay $100k+. The police was contacted but can’t trace the phone (obviously). Have you heard of similar scams tied to gofundme? Any recommendations? My 2 cents is that it’s a kid in a basement trying his luck. TC $350k, YOE 10+ (not SWE)
I would get that phone number and share it with other spammers so that spammers will spam each other and keep playing thier shit games with one another. I usually do it.
That’s a good one. What’s most efficient way to subscribe this phone number to a spam list?
Yo! Google use your 20% project to automate this.. a link where you insert the number and it autopopulates it all scam/spam sites.
Pretend to take the bait and waste as much of their time as possible. Obviously give all fake info and pretend to be slow and elderly to delay your responses further. Pretend you can’t understand the method of payment or keep screwing it up. It’s always gratifying to hear them rage quit after you string them along for half an hour or so.
They don’t have the energy to do this as they almost lost their kid. They went through a lot. Fortunately, it’s all good now.

HOT TAKE: Unemployment numbers should be much higher
Someone is definitely botting successful GoFundMe campaigns in hopes that they'll catch someone that doesn't know how the internet works.
