how is life in Transferwise (London) in terms of developer?
Lots of front-end teams in London, better access to leadership, growing like crazy. Can confirm not scammers and not selling user data. All devs go through product interviews so strong communication + being customer focused will earn some points during interview.
Low pay and loads of bs because of the “autonomous” nature of the teams. It looks good on paper, but in reality instead of having to suck one dick, like one would in a normal organisation, at Transferwise you’ve got to suck loads (one for every team). Your daily experience will vary wildly depending on the team you land in.
After I have done the tech interview, I decided to not go with them. Thanks for the comments!
Can you explain why you decided not to go with them? Did you get an offer?
I've been contacted by one of their recruiters for jobs in London. Can you tell more about your experience and why you decided not to take the offer? TC/YOE ?
Make you sure you get the best offer possible. Just my advice.
Mediocre to bad engineering , 100% politics, friends hiring other friends. bad engineering people with random opinions. 80% would not survive a decent interview in the market.
