Going through interview with RBC for a PL07 role in Toronto. I am asking for 120k base. 1) Does anyone know whether this ask is reasonable for an external hire 2) What is the expected bonus range for a PL07 in Toronto? Client facing role (corporate + MM client base) that doesn’t generate revenue? YOE: 9 TC: 150k #interview #finance #banking #canada #toronto #rbc #canadabanking #rbccapitalmarkets #rbci&ts
I am PL07 and I’ll suggest to go for 130+.
Can you add some colour to where this is coming from? From what I understand the published pay band for PL07 peak at 115, so I’m interested to know under what circumstance/team/role a candidate would be in a position to have a chance to negotiate for a salary 15k over band
theres a ~15k year end bonus that will be written into the offer, its technically performance based but at pl7 most ppl get 15k
RBC will not hire you, They will hire some new immigrant.. Canadian market salaries are bad.. The banks think immigration keep salaries low while the cost of everything is going up.
What are you talking about ? “They will hire some new immigrant” What does that even mean?! I’m PL8 and at $110k, immigrant or not, the bands are the bands. Get outta here with your disguised exclusionary discourse
Yeah right read the other comments pl07 max is 115k and You seem like a RBC hr.. Trying to defend.. lol dude all banks are same.. so chill.. they low ball everyone..
Maximum for PL07 role is 113k based on the salary range in 2021. Not sure about bonus
Pay range for PL07 is 90k-115k but flexibility sometimes to go outside the band. Bonus depends on your role. If you are a relationship manager the bonus is higher - direct drive to revenue. If you are not revenue generating the bonus will be lower. I'm a PL08 in Commercial Banking and mine is about 35k - probably on the higher end for the role. If you're a 7 and not revenue generating I'd guess closer to 25k.
Thanks for the intel, would you be considered to be in a direct revenue generating role in CB, or, would you be considered in a revenue generating team but in more of a supporting role?
I'd be direct revenue. I have a portfolio of clients and all of their revenue rolls up under me. Reporting related to revenue growth, loan growth, deposit growth, new client acquisition. All of that impacts my bonus directly. The only thing outside of my control is team performance related to client NPS.
Highest for rbc pl07 is $115k base like it’s their max.
RBC has increased pay bands for Fiscal 2022 (which we are in now). PL07 range outside of Capital Markets is $80-125K. Target bonus is 12-15%. You're ok to ask for 120k as base.
That’s great news, thanks for the helpful intel
What is the range for PL07 with in capital markets? And the target bonus pls.
Are you able to share the pay range for PL07 on capital markets? Also, would a PL07 = VP level in capital markets?
Yes PL7 = VP or Associate Director. Depending on front office or back office. For front office, pay range varies a lot. For back office range could be anywhere from 90-125
VP and director gets less than 150k Tc??
lol OP, time to quit
My base is 160k and TC is 300k
Your pay range sounds like it’s more senior than PL07
My official level is actually PL08.
Don’t “ask for 120k base”. Ask what the band range is and after the offer is presented to you, if it’s not top of band, ask for top of band.
