hi everyone, YoE:. 7.5 years TC:. 94k I'm currently a systems engineer, 7.5 YoE total (3 as a Software engineer), and I just finished my MS in Statistics this May(employer paid). my current job uses a lot of math and programming skills. I have a Bachelors in Math, Summa Cum Laude. I am looking to transition to a Senior Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer job. I'm going to be starting a github to showcase projects, particularly a project from a Deep Learning course from the CS department I took. While going over the project I realized that I did it totally wrong but got strong results. I am redoing it (it is a deep learning python project using pytorch), and it looks like the model I am using, as directed by the professor, is underfit. Knowing the professor, I would bet that this wasn't intentional. I've tried tuning every hyperparameter that's available with limited success. The model is a deep learning model. Even though the model is underfit, I can talk to how it works very well, and was planning on putting a write-up of the model along with the code to demonstrate my knowledge of it + communication style. Is it worth it to you guys to put it on github and showcase to potential employers, given that its underfit, or maybe not the best idea?
You should post it. You'll probably even get others to help out and give pointers
I'll help you. First, pay the tax. Share your yoe and tc.
Just updated the post
Thanks. First, why do you think your model is underfit? How did you come to that conclusion?
