Hi guys, I’ve been unemployed for 6 months and counting and only have had 1 interview so far. I feel defeated and anxious all the time. I am about to run out of savings. I will have to start buying groceries and paying my bills using my credit card. I never thought I would get to this point. What’s up with the job market? I have had multiple resume reviews, LinkedIn reviews, drafted personal cover letters for most applications and that has gotten me only 1 interview. It’s been 2 months and still haven’t heard anything back from the recruiter. I have followed up on it a couple times. Why is it so hard to land interviews in this market? When I look at my baby I feel like a total loser. I can’t even provide for her. What am I good for then? I just wanted to vent and see if I am not alone. Thanks for reading! #layoff #broke
Sounds awful. Have you tried Uber while looking for work.

Yoe? Market is pretty hot for seniors
When is the next expansion coming out for WoW
What function are you in ? Certain functions like HR (recruiting) have been hit harder than others.
You need to look at jobs that can pay even part-time. Also, have you looked or applied for contract jobs?
Sorry to hear that. It's tough for junior folks <4 YOE from what I see. You aren't alone.
I am in same boat, I am looking for job for last 4months. I have more than 12+year.
same as @ggDx01. I'm ex MSFT and have been looking since Jan 1st. One interview back w/ MSFT but I'm pretty sure a bitter ex-manager torpedoed it. Even thought I'm focusing my resume's, I keep getting rejections b/c they "found a better fit". Yeah, I guess my 20+ yrs in the industry didn't fit what they wanted even though the past 7 have been EXACTLY what their job description called for. I don't understand how the job market is good for seniors. It's looking like once you have "too much" experience, you're not wanted at all.
That sounds a really difficult situation, especially with a kiddo. Are you already using the benefits available to you? Unemployment insurance, SNAP, any local food charities?
