I was laid off from Coinbase as an ic4 software engineer and actively looking for jobs. I am looking for wlb primarily, so I thought state farm might be worth looking into. Their process was surprisingly easy and short with 1 hour of interview but I had no idea state farm's offer would be this low I have interviews lined up for tech companies like Google, zillow and several other tech startups. TC used to be about 210k with tanked Coinbase stock prices, and I have 4 yoe Should I just straight up reject, negotiate or just accept then renege later for backup? I have no visa issues thankfully
Do you think you’re adequately prepared for (tougher) interviews? How badly do you need cash?
I’d reject. If you can get an offer from Coinbase, you should be able to get an offer from at least one big tech and several startups. Also, worst case scenario you can easily apply and get a job at another legacy co like Visa or Northwestern.
Just take it and take your time to find a better opportunity
Accept and use it for LC pocket Money!
Dm if interested in Walmart
You can definitely push for 160-180+ depending on the position.
Lol there's no way they'd pay that much
Really? That’s what shows for some positions in levels fyi
When you realize most of the engineers do not work at FAANG and high growth companies. Low TC is the norm.
5mm software engineers in the US. I’d say less than 10% work in that category.
Negotiate, see if you can get a better offer or OE
Take it and keep looking for the job you want. With hiring slowing, better to have something than nothing
Sounds like a perfect offer for some OE action!
Sorry I don't know what that means
OE means overemployed or working multiple jobs at the same time.
