New to Meta. Had high hopes for the company. What a dumpster fire. Terrible tech they use internally. Sad talent. Poor strategy. Broken processes. People here really can’t think their way through a problem. Too much academia and no experience. It’s very sad. I want out ASAP I’d gladly give up my spot to any of you. You just have to pass their silly interview process with easy academic questions. Lol unbelievable. Down vote. 👎
You haven't been at Amazon yet 😂
Is it worse or on par with Meta? Both companies have a tactical programming mindset, so I’d imagine its the same.
I can't compare the two. But I've worked with PMs here who are clueless about product strategy. And they come in with "Senior" titles. It's such a joke.
You don’t sound like a stuck up asshole. You probably don’t fit in there
What org?
I am not fan of Meta culture either in my team. Full of office politics and disgusting
Can you refer me to some research positions at Meta? I have Ph.D. And 2 YOE
Dm for upstart if role fits and interested @oneday
I hear ya. Tons of teams at Meta sit around and play devils advocate in meetings and XFN just do vision sprint after vision sprint. Lots of philosophizing with very little action
The amount of “just playing devils advocate here” is mind boggling. My favorite is when they turn out to actually be the devil after two months of just playing.
Infra or product ?
Salty coz got RSUs at the peak?
Lots of leetcode monkeys with little real world experience, in my experience.
You’re right. Microsoft obviously has brighter engineers
Being critical about something doesn't automatically mean that the person is praising their own situation. If I say meta is bad, it doesn't mean I'm praising atlassian or comparing against it. Yet people draw the same wrong conclusions on this app. Geez
PIP? MM?
LOL, I was thinking the same thing.
Why? I agree with everything OP said. He didn’t mention one thing though 🤑
