University of Toronto - Reputation in USA
What’s the reputation like of U of T engineers in the valley or FANG? Does it hold weight? Kind of concerned about applying to places and companies perhaps ignoring me based on where I went to school.
If I didn't live in Toronto for a few years, I'd have never even heard of UofT. It's a non starter.
well you have amd on your resume. and do you not like working in markham? why try to move to the states?
It is a solid tier 2. Canadian schools admit almost entirely based on GPA, so academic meritocracy is largely maintained.
Waterloo, u of t and ubc
Nobody gives a shit about your school after a few years out of school (unless you have a PhD)
arguably, advisor matters more in the latter case
U of T is one of the top 25 schools worldwide and has an excellent reputation. For CS in particular, and really only for CS, Waterloo edges it out.
UofT is better for grad school,
^UofT for CS Grad School in a ML/DL/CV related field is extremely good
