Friend interviewed at Meta and none of his LC rounds are Meta tagged in LC. System Design question is not the typical questions asked either. He failed to solve both questions optimally in 1 round Not sure how rare this is
None of my questions were in tagged? lol it is not a memorization game
Are you sure
Maybe try learning instead of memorizing?
I highly doubt you’ve ever gotten a Meta interview. And if you have I doubt even more you got two questions you’ve never seen before. I know you wouldn’t have passed. Why did you feel the need to come and be ugly like this?
Lol my comment was not intended to be ugly, but to provoke some self reflection. This is equivalent to someone whining that their midterm didn't ask questions directly off last year's exam.
This is how interviews should be. The goal should be to test thinking rather than actual answer.
I agree but many people on Blind have confirmed we just ask the same questions. I try not to
So you think that people should be able to solve two questions they’ve never seen within 35 minutes? Please tell me for what group of people this is realistic for?
I really hope they stop asking LC tagged or tweak them considerably. Normal people will pass some and fail others, but LC monkeys will fail most.
You missed the point of an interview. 🤣Mandatory! only tagged questions
I see you got all of the POS itt OP. Yes. Your friend got unlucky. They ran into another POS like the people ITT. It is absolutely ridiculous to expect 99% of the applicants to be able to solve 2 questions they’ve never seen in 40 minutes (really 30 if they get an interviewer who likes to talk a lot). Ask your friend to give back to the community and share which questions they got.
We are starting to ask non leaked questions.
How often do you see people pass interviews when all of the questions were non-leaked?
0%
I used to conduct technical interviews and never used any tagged LC nor design. All those tagged ones are flagged internally anyways.
Why would you do this? How many people were able to pass your interviews?
Because we are testing for critical thinking and not memorization. There’s an internal tool that tracks pass rates for interviewers. There are plenty of checks and balances to see if you are well calibrated. If I remember correctly, I was actually on the higher band of passing people. Maybe too lenient.
What a dumb ass

Asians - what are your thoughts on asian female white male ?
Spoiled SWEs thinking they can memorize 20 questions and get 400k
*More like 100 questions Even if you assume that the top 20% of the questions are asked 80% of the time, considering how they ask 8 questions in total, the chances of being asked one of those less popular questions is (1-0.8^8) = 0.83 aka 83% ;)
