Upcoming interview at Google for SETI
Google folks if you can help me out here on the following questions? 1) Do the interview questions share the same difficulty level as of SWE? 2) Apart from preparing leetcode and CTCI, what do you guys suggest? I felt my phone screen was super easy! The question was a very well known one. Could this just be a coincidence?

If you are a software developer currently, do not go and demote yourself. Google had trouble getting good testers, and this is a tactic to confuse and concur - it is same as SET. Adding 'I' only worked for iPhone ...
I agree. If you have software engineering job at half decent company then this is demotion.

SETI's get paid exactly the same as SWEs. I am not sure how it would be a demotion.
if pay was only criteria then may be not. I m pretty sure your statement is incorrect about equal pay though

one thing to keep in mind, SETIs can't transfer to swe easily. so make sure you really want to do that role, or prepare to reinterview
This is true, but it isn't super hard to transfer either. I personally know of several folks who did transfer - they had to work as a swe for a cycle or two though. They don't require a reinterview; that used to be the case for a period a while ago.
they don't require a reinterview *for specific cases*. in general, they do require it. it's just possible to bypass that by essentially getting a manager to sponsor you.
