Update: sick and need to reschedule, contacted recruiters no reply

My flight is tomorrow morning, I don't think I can do the interview because my temperature is actually going up. I think the team is trying to hire someone very soon, and I get it if they decide to move on, but what does the status look like internally to Amazon if I don't go through with the onsite and how long do they hold on to the results of previous loops? I've emailed and called my lead recruiter and I've called my recruiting coordinator, maybe 7/5 isn't the best day but yeah I don't think I can go through with this at this point in time.

Don’t go. You’re sick. It would be irresponsible for you to do so.

Sounds like you are fucked either way. May want to change your username.

Eh it's still accurate just not yet I guess 😅

What do you mean “either way?” Coming in for an interview with the plague would be an automatic no hire as far as I’m concerned, but rescheduling due to illness would be fine IMO.

Your interview is on Monday, right? Any chance you’re going to start getting better?

^ Is it really something a couple nights of restful sleep can't fix?

IBM LeavingIBM OP Jul 5, 2019

I'd need to wake up early tomorrow for a flight at 7am, and as it is flying is terrible when sick (air pressure, over exposure/ proximity to others). It's possible but it's risky, my first recruiter responded so she's fine with rescheduling but I think I may be interviewing with another team not sure yet.

Put your phone down and go see a doctor. Sheez.

I’d take some cold meds and go. But that’s just me. Wear a mask if you’re worried about making others sick. I know it sounds bad, but I probably wouldn’t hire a person who called in sick for an interview unless they were in the hospital

Just email/ call the recruiter if you can . Don’t go ... it might look like a no show on the day of the interview but you can always clarify with the recruiter

Oracle bbye Jul 6, 2019

It’s better to not go , if you go an fail there is a cool down period of a year . But if you don’t interview you can always interview with other teams when u are ready

Rescheduling is never an issue. Just let them know however you can and don't show up.

I think you wait until they reply and reschedule it. If you pass their on-site interview bar, you will be hired but might not be with the same team.
