Upleveling at Square?
Recruiter said they’d slot me for L4 (2nd level) or L5 (third level) at Square for the on-site. I’m currently SDE2 - what does it take to uplevel? What should I be optimizing for in the architecture interviews?

L4 would be a downgrade for you.
Really? Are they more granular? Levels.FYI seems to say L4 square is about what SDe2s make
L3s are new grads L4s are junior engineers but not new-grads L5s are what I would think about as "mid-level" engineers L6s are seniors SDE2 at Amazon was that "mid-level" role, so I'd say you're probably targeting L5 depending on how good you are within the SDE2 band.
