Considering applying for a role that would increase TC (likely) and allow remote flexibility. Glowing reviews on Glassdoor but not a lot of other employee information. I've never worked for a startup and I don't know what's common besides typically generous equity and comp packages. Few things I noticed: no 401(k) matching, which is a red flag, but they could be changing that. Common for startups? Any insight would be amazing, it looks incredible otherwise and I'm psyched to apply. #startup #carrotfertility
Did you end up applying? What are your thoughts on Carrot Fertility now?
Applied, dinged during second-round interview. No feedback. I loved the people I spoke with, but the hiring manager really didn't seem to like me for whatever reason. The role I applied for is still up despite their urgency to fill it, so it would seem like the HM didn't really take to any of the candidates. I was still impressed with the company and I'd apply again, but given that it's still a very small org, the chances of interacting with that HM are high so I doubt I'd get hired.
Also interviewed for a role there. I came out of the gates hot on current TC and role expected. HM seemed more Jr than me which was prob the biggest red flag. Likely wouldn’t have accepted any offer given.
Which role did you interview for?
How was the tech coding interview? I saw it’s Python - Flask and sqite
It's uncommon for startups to have 401k matching, unless they are generating a lot of cash
