(Urgent) FB GE vs Stripe for New Grad

Have 2 offers, FB GE return offer and a Stripe offer, as FB isn’t extending my deadline I have to decide by today. FB (NYC) Base: 124k RSU: 220/4 Signing: 75k Stripe (Seattle) Base: 134 RSU: 78k first year grant (they do annual vesting now so it removes most of the upside). Signing: 40k first year 20k second year I prefer NYC over Seattle and I liked my time at FB but confused on what offer would be best for my career.

Go to NYC. Ask Stripe for a NYC offer, otherwise FB. Better dating scene, more fun places to eat and drink at, more live events. Come to Seattle only if you love the outdoors - hiking , backpacking, camping, skiing , etc

Are you in NYC?

Amazon megapuff77 Aug 26, 2021

Nope Seattle.

General electric

HP !dealth Aug 26, 2021

Is there a role called General Electric at Facebook?

Does stripe have annual cash bonus on top of rsu?

Facebook h00dsquid OP Aug 26, 2021

Yes they do, 10% target bonus but that’s for both companies, Stripe also has refresherss

Coinbase LDNE34A Aug 26, 2021

Is that offer a stripe return intern offer as well?

Facebook h00dsquid OP Aug 26, 2021

No it isn’t

Stripe (x, y, z) Aug 26, 2021

You can’t go wrong here, pick whichever is more interesting to you. Congrats on starting your career with these two great options in front of you.

From a purely numbers perspective: FB TC for first 2 years: 124*2+110+75 = 433k Stripe TC for first 2 years: 134*2+78*2+40+20 = 484k Plus you'll save a tonne on taxes/housing in Seattle. A friend in this exact situation reneged FB for Stripe 2 years ago. Safe to say it really worked out for him. But you can't go wrong with either and it is a lot of money either way. Hit up NY if that is more your scene although I'm sure Stripe will let you switch to NY.

Was it difficult to get GE? How far above and beyond do you have to go?

Facebook aTQv76 Aug 27, 2021

got GE too, i finished my intern project plan in ~5 weeks, finished 3 extra stretch goals, and then self designed and executed another prject that moved a team-level metric.
