I was too busy leetcoding to get into faang when I should have been going to the gym smh...
Put me in coach! I threw a football like 6 times I think I got the hang of it
And the average salary is 860k, and an average career lasts 2.5 seasons. So even in the remarkably slim chance you could actually make the NFL, SWE is still better for lifetime earnings.
Yes. Go to gym right now.
Meh, maybe tomorrow
I think about this too, I should have just signed up for the NFL draft instead of learning two sum in college SMH
Rookie number. Elon musk got paid 595 Million in 2019.
Trust me, you need to start from pop warner if you want to make it to the league. I'm not saying you would get picked in the first round but to even give yourself assurance in some sense, you would need to compete with your peers and now a days, folks start their kids athletic careers from a very early age. Also, there is a political aspect to all of this. Getting recruited to a solid D1 school, the kind of relationship your college coaches have with nfl scouts, coaches, training staff, etc... It's not black and white.
I will put my future kid in it I guess, becoming a pro athlete is so much cooler than a swe not gonna lie
This ^^. I live in one of these athletics heavy areas and parents are CRAZY. They push their kids insanely hard and there are tons of stories of kids needing Tommy John surgeries by the time they leave high school. It's nuts. Actually lots of former pros live here and those guys are absolutely the coolest, most laid back and awesome dudes ever. My son was on teams with one of the Kuiper offspring (Giants and As broadcasters), and a kid who's dad played D1 at Gonzaga, etc. The Kuipers (both Duane and Mel) were super cool. They really are just like they sound on the radio even when nobody is watching. Let your kids enjoy the game and encourage them to practice hard, but don't put that kind of expectations on them. Edit: this goes for academics as much as it does for athletics. Suicide and drugs is a big problem here in the predominantly Asian/Indian neighborhoods because the pressure is so intense.
No thanks, I’m not taking chronic traumatic encephalopathy for $35m
35million won’t mean much when you enter concussion protocol for the nth time
Nothing a couple Stabs can’t fix😭. Also some good lawyers, look at oj Simpson
0.09% of high school players make it to the league. Average career is 2.5 years at a salary of like $600k. Honestly a little sad that E6/L6 can outearn an NFL player.
You think it's so easy to make the NFL huh?
How much harder than a leetcode hard?
Way way harder. You can’t get a career ending injured leet coding 🤕
