Use paid software for my ai startup, or build our own?

We are just 2 founders building this ai startup. This is an application that replaces what humans do with ai (openai, google gemini etc). In the past months, we have built a software that enables our application. It connects many ai apis with speech recognition so it has enabled our initial version. This tech is not our core product but a facilitator However, there is this a new company that is superior to our facilitator and does almost everything we wanted (with less flexibility) We feel like ditching a month of work and just paying for this, and focus on other stuff. On one hand, I feel that our business should use whatever that is out there with minimum friction to deliver value to our customers. On the other, I feel a bit hesitant replacing a crucial layer that would have been one of proprietary moat with a paid software. Feels like huge “ai” component we thought would just be a paid service. Sure there are so many other parts but this was one of them. Anyways, what would you do

Depends. What is your ai startup's core? If whole experience plays an important role you might want to keep the front end, but alas, your whatever core should be as good as bearing bad front.
