Hey Blind Peeps, I am deciding to buy second car of my life and have little experience. I saw a used 2018 BMW 5 series 530i xDrive for 30k. I must say it looked grand inside with lot of gadgetry mostly beyond my appreciation. Nevertheless was very comfortable and sexy but felt too large. Also, my friend says BMW depreciation is a lot and maintainence is extremely expensive. Also fuel efficiency didn't seem great (22 or 24 mpg) Second option is go for brand new Tesla Model 3 around 45k without self Driving option. Third option is go for a 2018+ used cheap Accord, Camry, ascent, Sentra under 15k since I care about moving from Point A to Point B the most. Just these cars feel very plasticy. Also curious about used Mercedes CLA 250, Audi A4, Audi A6. I also would like a car that feels solid and comfortable. Any thoughts/recommendations? TC 450k NW 1.3M Seattle. #car #bmw #tesla
Tesla is the worst car I ever seen. Trust me you will regret it in 2 months only. PS - Using Tesla from last 5 years and changed 3 models.
I have a BMW and a Honda. Upkeep for BMW is expensive, especially if you are a heavy user of the car. With kids, I appreciate the Honda more since I don't have to spend time dealing with random diagnostic messages. I enjoyed the BMW for sure, but will be selling it to buy a less burdensome car (not just money, but time)
Which Honda model would you recommend?
Get a used Mazda 6 with 2.5 Liter turbo. It is luxurious inside and also powerful enough. Good looking too.
Thanks will check this one too
Option 3. Save money when you can. My 2 cents.
Yeah was strongly considering this option but too many cheap car models to choose from. Not sure which one is best.

Why is tesla bad ? I haven’t been inside one ! Can someone explain ? Is it the build quality or it’s total hype?
Terrible quality. Plagued with production issues for the interiors. Fun cars to drive though.
Been driving Model 3 LR for 2 years. No issues whatsoever. The issues are blown up IMO. I already saved money on gas on a car comparable price range. YMMV.
Bmw(and every German car) do depreciate a lot— this one has as well. That car was probably around 60k new. And it’s getting to the age where it’ll start needing the expensive repairs. BMW makes amazing machines — but they’re expensive af to maintain (coming from a bmw owner). Tesla’s are the hot sexy car right now — their quality is also trash — honestly no point to get one if you’re not doing the self driving package. We really need your TC to advise you. I just hit the 2 comma club so having a car that is expensive to maintain is fine. If you’re tc is 🥜 then get a reliable used Japanese or Korean car and work on increasing your tc.
Just added tc and NW.. Please advise.i am not exactly very cheap guy but would like to save money and really can't appreciate car engines except how it feels on road and comfort inside and gets me from point a to point b with least maintenance. Bmw one I saw just felt very posh but I felt kinda ill placed in so much luxury.
Find the cars on Turo. Rent them for 2-3 days and then make a decision. What works for Person X may be a deal breaker for you ... just my 2c ✌️
CLA and A4 are bad downgrades. They’re both vastly inferior to 5 series. Matching 5 series you need either A6 or E series Mercedes. E series has the best interior in my opinion. Own a 550i at the moment. Used to own an A6. Planning to get myself the new E series. In Germany Tesla battery drains super fast at 150+ so I don’t consider it. My 5 is a pleasure to cruisecontrol at 180. If I’m feeling funky it is super stable at 250. All in km/h.
Used Lexus as an alternative
Hmmm. Thanks. Didn't think about Lexus. Which model is equivalent to smaller sedan like Audi A4, CLA 250?
Lexus is350 F sport
